In 2012 Resident Evil 6 was released for the PS3 and the xbox 360. How ever it wasn't as successful as planned. It did not receive a warm welcome from the fans yet it was able to sell approximately 9.8 million copies! Despite the hate it had some good features, about which I will talk today. The game has 4 campaigns and the story of all the campaigns is linked. The post contains some spoilers of Resident Evil 6 so if you don't want to be spoiled then I recommend you to turn back now.

The Return of some old characters.
In Resident Evil 6 you can play 4 different campaigns and all those 4 campaigns have different characters. In the 1st campaign you can take control of either Leon S Kennedy or Helena Harper. Now Leon is an old Resident Evil character who made his debut in Resident Evil 2. Before appearing in Resident evil 6, Leon last appeared in Resident Evil 4 which was released in 2005. When I first saw Resident Evil 6 I got really excited after I saw that Leon as returning and along with me many other fans were also excited to see the return of Leon!

Along with Leon we also saw the return of another iconic Resident Evil character, Chris Redfield! In the second campaign you can either take control of Chris or Piers. Chris is an also old Resident Evil character who first appeared in Resident Evil 1. After Resident Evil 1 Chris appeared in Resident Evil 5 (The main game series). Personally I never expected that we would see Chris in Resident Evil 6 but when I heard about it, I got really excited. I couldn't wait to play Resident Evil 6 as I came to knew both Leon and Chris would be returning in Resident evil 6!

Ada Wong was another old Resident Evil character who appeared in Resident Evil 6. I had actually expected this as I heard Leon was appearing in Resident Evil 6. In which ever game Leon appeared Ada Wong also appeared (Resident evil 2 and 4). Unlike the first 3 campaigns in Resident evil 6, the 4th campaign only features 1 character which is Ada Wong. Though they added 'AGENT' in the campaign but he was basically and invisible character as he only appeared when the game is in action and not in cut scenes.

There was another character who had appeared before as well which was Sherry Birkin. But she appeared in Resident evil 2 and was very small at that time. Also she is not playable in Resident Evil 2 so her appearance in RE6 was basically new.

Ustanak.
Ustanak was a B.O.W who appeared mainly in the campaign of Sherry and Jake. Ustanak also appears in the campaign of Leon and Helena when both the teams meet each other for 1 boss fight. If you have played the campaign of Jake and Sherry you would know why this feature is so interesting.

The campaign feels so much like the campaign of Resident Evil 3. Throughout Ustanak is chasing you and right when you feel he is dead he pops up again! This was very similar to Resident Evil 3 as in that game you are being chased by 'Nemesis'. Ustanak is also a very powerful enemy who wants to kill Jake muller. The final fight of this campaign is also with Ustanak. Ustanak added to the thrill and fun to the campaign. It also made the campaign really interesting!

The introduction of Piers Nivans.
Piers Nivans was a character who was introduced in the campaign of Chris Redfield. When I first saw Piers I got really curious as this was the first time we were seeing him. During my first play through of Chris' campaign I chose Piers even though Chris was one of my favorite character!

Piers slowly started to become 1 of my favorite characters and when the game is about to end I got really sad when he got infected. The way he saves Chris in the end was a memorable moment! Through out the game Piers is loyal to Chris and in the end to ensure the end of HAOS Piers sacrifices himself making him an absolute hero!

Other features.
Aside from these features there were some other features which were also great! One of them was the length of the story. The story of the game was the longest in all the Resident Evil games. Though the campaign was not like the other Resident Evil games still it was pretty fun.
The location of the game was another interesting feature. The campaign has different locations ranging from open in the city to waterfall.
